Greetings! My name is Jaema and I am Head of Adult Services at Oxford Public Library! I read far and wide, but tend to gravitate to books that are unputdownable, page turners, with unforgettable characters, surprising plot twists and a storyline that keeps you hooked until the last page. I just finished The Lincoln Highway by Amor Towles which takes place in 1954, is the story of young men who have reached a crossroad in their lives and are ardently intent on breaking free of their dark pasts. The characters are completely captivating.
Here's a list of my recent favorites:
- The Overstory by Richard Powers
- The Personal Librarian by Marie Benedict and Victoria Christopher Murray
- American Dirt by Jeanine Cummins
- The Silent Patient by Alex Michaelides
- The Vanishing Half by Brit Bennett
Cheers!
JCB
